Sometimes it can be hard to figure out the best way to sell your products. Today, I thought I’d give a brief comment on my experience with etsy, just in case any new entrepreneurs were out there and wanted a first-hand, non-compensated testimony.
I began using etsy in June 2012 when I opened Ellison’s Organics (www.ellisonsorganics.etsy.com) . It was fairly easy to set up and I was up and running very quickly. There is a lot of personalization that you can do, to really make your shop “yours”.
When I got my first sale, I got a wonderful email from etsy congratulating me. I feel that etsy is very much behind its sellers…after all, that is how it makes its money!
As a seller, you will pay a percentage fee (small) of your sales price to etsy. But for the ease of having a website, credit card processing, and the protection provided, it’s well worth it. Etsy also provides a LOT of free articles and videos to support its sellers and provide information on how to make your shop better and drive customers to your store.
I say give it a go! It’s free to set up and if you don’t make any sales, you won’t lose anything. If you do make some sales, you won’t regret it!
